We offer customized charging solutions for small or large charging needs of building companies, everything from demanding load management solutions, to connecting solar power systems to car charging.
Slow charging, also known as mode 2, offers an alternative for charging an electric car when a mode 3 socket or vehicle plug is not available. This charging method makes use of, for example, a car heater socket box, but it is important to note that there are limitations when using a standard household socket. A household socket is not designed to withstand a continuous 16A current, which can lead to overloading and potential safety risks.
However, we do offer slow chargers and sockets that are designed to safely handle a 16A load. When installing these sockets, it is important to ensure that the power supply is also suitable and has sufficient capacity.
Slow charging can also be done from a 3-phase mains socket or a 1-phase caravan socket. Hybrid car batteries are fully charged in about 3-6 hours with slow charging, but full charging of all-electric car batteries can take more than 24 hours. Slow charging is therefore a practical solution, especially in situations where faster charging is not possible, but it requires careful planning and the use of the right equipment.
